Portfolio 1
In Barcelona many beautiful building façades are under preservation order but this does not include the whole building. In these cases architects are allowed to demolish the structure as long as the façade remains unaffected. The apartment here shown is located in such a building. Only the façade dates back to the beginnings of the 20th century but the interiors have no reference at all to the past. The impersonal standardized fittings could be found in any new residential building anywhere in the world.
Our project goal was to create a contemporary interior with a few hints evocative of the building’s origin.
Materials: wood, marble, brass, glass, velvet.
Colours: gold, Prussian blue, Burgundy red, smoke black, sandy white.
